Oh, the Rain!

Caught the scent of the earth divine
The clouds are here, could sense the rain
Mind succumbs to the heart of love
Its time to rejoice, no matter how!

Listen to the trees smile and scream
The rustle of the leaves makes the surrounds gleam
The drops from the heaven make the earth come alive
The birds fly home, the kids jump and dive

The winds scare away the thundering clouds
The clouds run for cover, comes out the sun proud
The drops disappear as steam, makes the earth frown
The sky looks dry, the spirits go deep down

Hi Suresh :) --I also love anticipating for rain--everything just seems to wake up, in hopes to be showered upon--and you sure wrote about the disappointment of not raining really well--I could very well relate to that! :) over here, the weather's a bit crazy, sunny then rainy next...:) --nikko :)

Nice poetry Suresh. I just love the rain, and in Scotland we get plenty of it. Thank you for commenting on my poem >> James

This is a very good write. Much improvement over your first couple. You should write more often. Maybe try a contest if one suits you. Thank you for writing this. We have had so much rain where I live in south carolina lately I think we don't appreciate it the way you seem to. Good luck with your writing, Charles Henderson

Today, it seemed to rain, but to dismay the clouds disappeared. My feelings conveyed through this poem. Regards Suresh
