A sweet glowing little melody
from a small wooden pipe charms even me.
Each note played with such great care
softly rises into the air.
As the music plays up goes a woven basket's lid
and up stretches a long snake from the darkness where it hid.
Dazed and unaware his thin body sways and climbs
as he ha done a number of times,
but this time was different, not like the rest,
for this time was different cause this would be their last.
The charmer played sweet music until he hit one sour note;
the snake was mad from the solitude and went for the charmer's throat.
I have never, not once, seen this pair before.
All I know is the snake and his charmer are together no more.
