Racing Thoughts

The cold wind blows
in the frigid north.
Snow has fallen..
No sign of spring.
Dreams of sunshine
and fresh, warm air
captivate my mind,
my entire being.
Birds fly ramped
no shelter from the chill.
I feel their pain,
though there's not much I can do.
Another thought enters
this very open mind.
The meeting of a loved one,
which may take some time.
Though I am willing to wait,
sometimes my thoughts race.
I still dream of spring
and a very friendly face.
I look forward to the season
where warmth arrives.
Along with my dreams;
reality will be mine.
