Depression

Down in the dumps
Except when fixated on
Pen and paper to produce a
Rhyming (or not) mental diversion
Essential to the
Soul's seasoning that
Simply lifts
Into the ether the dark mood
Out into the light of
Nature's muse of hope.

                         Assignment for Constance on how
                           poetry can heal depression

I am a huge supporter of the idea that writing heals, so couldn't agree with your poem more. Good luck with this unique acrostic. At your comment on 'Penumbral Phase'--yes that was a typo, and thank-you for pointing it out! You are only the second comment that I have ever had, that actually helped with a typo/grammar issue. I have pleaded with people to not worry about hurting my feelings and help out with such things if they want. Thank-you, much appreciated. Chris.

A difficult assignment, Sue (I was given one much easier to write about!! ) You did an amazing job....and acrostics can be even more difficult! Good luck in the contest! Also...thanks so much for catching my spell-boo-boo...I always appreciate when someone sees something I've missed!! Thanks so much!! I see absolutely nothing her that needs correction!! :) Love, Carrie

I agree that the written word can help heal. It always helps me when I can express what I feel no mateer how disturbing the topic may be to others. It is just a way of getting it out of your system and healing your mind, body and soul. Terrific acrostic!
