Fallen Angel
You closed your eyes and released a sigh
and I wondered if it's possible you fell out of the sky.
Have you tiptoed on the clouds or flew across a sea,
how far did you have to fall to stand here next to me?
Have you ever soared so high that you could touch a star
or is the journey too hard, the distance too far?
You may have lost those angel wings and you may have lost a halo,
but when you smile you still make my world glow.
You're a fallen angel with a heart so kind and dear
and I guess I'm lucky that you fell around here.
How high did you have to fly to know that you were free?
How far did you fall before you landed next to me?
How many clouds did you fly under
when you heard the rumble of thunder?
As I watch you slowly walk away
into the last light of the dying day
