Taphephobia

A sarcophagus scream from a sycamore box
Covered with restraints and metallic locks
The Lazarus syndrome of a Vestal Virgin
Underneath the nails of a Gaia surgeon
The soil entombs with fragmented rocks
Premature asphyxia returns to shock
The audio filters through an earthworm shark
And the fear of suffocation alone in the dark

I am enjoying reading fresh poetry today. What a wonderful thing to do on this rainy day. I am so happy your poetry was among what I have read and enjoyed today Chris. Love, Carol

Wow, this is powerful, Christopher, and so creatively worded. Couldn't help but think of Poe's story "Premature Burial," which once made me fear being buried alive. Now I've resolved to be cremated. Chilling poem! Love, Carolyn
