Daughter

As you sleep I watch your face
I caress your skin...
undoubtedly God made you
I watch as your eyelids rest,
a glistening blue silk layer of skin
covering your innocence

Every night I stop to look at you...
at peace
knowing tomorrow may be different
So I never forget the way you look
dreaming your fairytale dreams
I wonder...
how could one not look at his child the same?

You are my true inner beauty,
my one and only savior.
All that I'm pleased to show for my life

The world hasn't touched you
the smog hasn't wrinkled you
You are in my hands
I wish you are always in my hands.
