Babylon the Great, fallen
United nations will destroy her.
Merchants go broke.
Great crowd survives.
Resurrection begins.

Hi Susan, what a Free verse and so true. I have lived in Chile some years ago and feel for the people there who are now suffering. So I do hope that all my friends have survived. Thank you for commenting "In search of the Stetl". A Stetl was a Jewish settlement (Village or small town) in Eastern Europe before WWII. The terrible holocaust had put an end to those settlements. Only the "Mea Shearim" orthodoxe Jewish quarter in Jerusalem rimands a bit to the old Stetl. ..Keep writing! Gert

Dear Susan, I just finished reading your beautiful poetry. I’m not good at writing free verse, so I confess that I like your rhyming and couplets the most. To thank whoever provides us with the wonderful gifts of nature, is something that we should all do every day. I love your poems and learned something as well. Thank you for the read, and for your comment on my poem. Love, Amy.
