I am a grain of sand,
Miniscule, microscopic and morbidly misshapen; a mangled mess.
I have no facets or gleaming faces.
I am a cornucopia of congealed silica
And countless foul impurities.
I am both completely unique
And utterly unremarkable,
Indistinguishable from my innumerable peers.
Yet one day, the sea will single me out
And sweep me away.
