Dreams

Dreams

In our minds begins the root,
of all that is now real.
For long ago it started off,
with just a simple wheel.

In our dreams we wished to fly,
high up in the air.
And in our minds we found a way,
to put ourselves up there.

All we have within our lives,
did start within a dream.
So all the things we see at night,
may not be what they seem.

For it could be within the dark,
that things now live the dream.
And it could be within our minds,
that dreams have now redeem.

All the things that crawl and walk,
deep within the night.
And all the things that hide away,
from the morning light.

Hi Tom, Dreams...very nice rhyme. It reminded me of the "BIG NOSE" that used to move around in my window at night when I was a child. smiles... I was always thankful for daylight. (You wouldn't happen to be the same Tom Clark that worked for the Jacksonville Times Union back in 1980 are you?) Please check out the "End Line Word" poetry form blog and contest. Thanks for sharing and keep writing. Smiles, Dane Ann

What do we have if we can not dream. Excellent piece.
