February Rain

rain caressing limbs transforms into crushing ice duplicitous destruction enveloping trees splintering Appendages suffering spiral fractures winter rhetoric cracked branches screaming in pain imminent amputation

    What a beautiful vivid picture you paint with words.. poor tree... we had an ice storm in my area a few years back that destroyed many, many a tree, they just cracked and splintered...and thanks so much for your comment on my poem, Something to say

    Excellent writing, Abe! I saw this sight once when I visited my husband's parents in Kentucky and it inspired me too, to write a poem about it. I did it in a short form, triolet. I love this form you used! Luv, Andrea
