Blank mind 
Far behind
Brain gone
Just a pawn

Can’t think
Only blink
Need sleep
But I weep

Then I pray
It’s Okay
Peace arrives
Tears subside.



I was in a depressive state.

    I also post absolutely meaningless self-publicising comments which give no input at all. Well done for having a poem namesaked with mine. Maybe next time you could post a comment actually worth receiving.

    I've been thinking about writing a poem about insomnia so was drawn to read yours. Great job describing so susccinctly what happens in the night! It seems from all the posts that many of us who write poetry don't sleep so well. The up side for me is that many of my poem ideas come to me once I calm down and find that place of peace.     Hi Susan :)As I am tossing and turning and wishing that I was sleeping, and that's when I start praying and before you know it I am dreaming and then waking up again when the sun starts rising in the early morning, Susan I can relate to this poem so well especially when all I usually get is about four or five hours of sleep each night,Thank you again for sharing your gift in poetry with all of us here in poetry soup I thoroughly enjoyed my visit this morning,Have a fantastic day, Dean
