Machine Guns

Machine Guns

Allied forces lie down flat.
Strong, brave, ready for combat.
Hush. Hear that. Rat-a-tat-tat.

Armed, they work without brickbat.
Dug-in. Stressed in metal hat.
Distant screams Rat-a-tat-tat.
