Scorn the Anathema

- Part I (As Things Once Were) -
A master of all I did,
master of all I was,
growing faster every day,
growing stronger, in every way!

More than a man,
I was a god!
Above this world,
above this world!
More than a man,
I was a god!
Above this world,
above this world!

I was a master of the arts,
and a master of the sciences,
a master of beasts,
and a master of man!

All of that was stolen from me,
all that I was, all I would be!
Living now is a constant hell,
living now in this empty shell!

  - Part II (The Curse is Invoked) -
"This level of greatness is not allowed,
we can not let you soar above the crowd,
upon you we will place this damning cloud,
your progress stifled by a darkened shroud.
All of your potential was analyzed,
forever you'll be anathematized,
all current progress is anesthetized,
and the veins of your will are cauterized."

My universe comes crashing down,
it falls upon me, crushing all I am!
All my paths are blocked by ruin,
no way through, no way out!

Everything destroyed by the plague,
as it spreads so quickly toward me,
pushing me ever more and more back,
pushing me to a place before I began!

  - Part III (Suffering) -
Slow dying, yet still I, I'm trying,
so broken, not even, able to CRY!
I look up to the sky, reaching to where I was,
knowing I may never, reach it ever again!

My mind is, so quickly, eroding,
my will and, doggedness, go quickly TOO!
Strength and skill deteriorating,
leaving me weak, making me meek!

Every day I struggle to survive,
as even sanity flitters away!
I damn it all and question why,
I damn it all as I reach to the sky!
