The Loss

A flower rests upon the sand.
Petals blowing in the gentle wind,
Orange and yellow they glow,
In setting suns light
So... bright.

Seagulls bark from the sky,
While waves quietly lap at the shore.

Leaves blow off the trees,
Swirling... to the ground
Landing by feet.

In the sand
Four marks stand with
Two leading away.

That ending line gave a very interesting color to the whole poem. Nice images! andrea
