The Wonderful Kingdom

I searched the world over and tried to find out
the truth about God and what life is about.
Why does He allow such pain and sorrow?
What hope is there for a better tomorrow?

I tried looking in worldly books of wisdom,
in many religions that say they are Christian.
Only to find they think war is permitted,
but our Saviour showed us something totally different.

He showed us God's love by being an example,
by healing and resurrecting, he gave us a sample
of how wonderful and peaceful life will be
when his kingdom comes eternally.

This kingdom we pray for everyday,
will rule the earth, the Bible does say,
So read God's word in order to see
where the truth lies and what the future will be.

Very reassuring words. I only wonder if Revelations is included as part of God's word since the Saviour is very much presented as a righteous and judgmental warrior, not so much a loving and peaceful figure. Congratulations on the feature.

Susan, When I read the bible I view it allegorically. All the stories are pearls of wisdom. Our ancestors trying to grant us the benefit of their expertise. Isn't it amazing, however, that the same "bad things" recurr over and over. I do not have much patience for war. In this day and age, I have to believe that disputes could be settled. So I ask myself, "Why does this not happen?" I would say that it comes down to explotation and money. Hey--thanks for your comment. I wish for more.

It seems that Christian dominated countries are far away from what the Bible says. I have lived quite some time among Buddhists, Moslems and Hindus in Sri Lanka and must say that Buddhists are the closest to what you say about the "Wonderful Kingdom"

There is a big difference in professing to be a Christian and acting like one. This is an honest good write with some insight into this twisted world. Vince
