Santa's Slumber

Hush, Santa's sleeping,
After a long, arduous trip;
Warm and cozy in his bed,
Hugging a bottle of nip

Squeezing down tight chimneys,
Singed by fireplace logs;
Tripping over power cords,
Attacked by vicious dogs!

Soaring through enemy air space,
To nations far and near;
A task we'd never sign up for,
Though he completes it every year

Our gifts have been delivered,
Let the man sleep in peace;
As another Eve creeps upon us,
The madness will never cease!

    Hello. Milton. Very clever and funny. Yes I'm new to this. Or at least I've had a long absense. I never wrote one poem during my entire ridiculous marriage. Now, I'm getting my life back and its flowing again. Thanks for your kind words. It means a great deal to me. David
