December Night

December night-dreaming
Frost-faeries, winter-waifs gleaming
Wispy winter morn
Snow-flowers ground adorn
Pale sunlight I awaken
Illumination taken

Nice use of rhyme and imagery. I like the idea of "Snow-flowers." The alliteration works well. Thank you for sharing this poem with us and for your ongoing encouragement. Keep on writing! Karen

Mary, this is what I like best , when poets "paint" the picture with their words. YOu did that stunningly here. As for the triolet, it is a fairly simple little form to get the hang of. I find it works really well when you want to describe a scene in a movie or something little in nature that really "speaks" to you. I had to triple it in Avatar. Just too much goos stuff to exclude! LUv, andrea

There is a very surreal tone to this excellent poem, Mary. Kind of like the reverse of "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Great work! Love, Carolyn

Beautiful short Rhyme that you have penned in and about the coldest time of the year. Keep the creative pen flowing. I am glad that my poem "Awed" was to your liking for I enjoyed writing the poem with the little twist at the end. Sara
