Mary, i do hope she turns it around. 19 years old is too young to throw away life, but you will have had this thought running through your mind >> i really do hope so >> James

Such an apt desciption of something so many people deal with. It's hard to see someone you love on the downward slope. Good use of rhyme and personification for a powerful poem. May God keep your daughter safe and clean. Thank you for sharing this poem with us and for your kind words on mine. Karen

Addiction is a dreadful disease, that has it start first in the mind, then it possesses the body. It's power is in the mind. The mind must make a conscious effort, as you have indicated. God Bless you and I will pray for her decision to be concrete of the mind. Sincerely, Love, Moses

It is powerful and she will always be an addict but she can be recovered but she will always be an addict just like an alcoholic is always an alcoholic but can be in a constant state of recovery. If an alcoholic has one drink they are right back where they were when they drank their last one. Wishing her the best and will remember her in prayers. Keep the creative pen flowing. Sara
