About This Poem
used
sickening to ponder
she might be
a quest conquered
to him she seems
a shaft of sugarcane
lusty lips
have sucked dry
through sharp teeth
depleted this sugary essence
all the sweetness
his tongue could drain
a need met once irresistible
now a parched core
unaware
with his meticulous care
he could have possessed
a treasure
fountain of sweet nectar
perpetually saturating him
instead he chooses
an effortless task
he fills himself
leaves her
