I thought I heard a lonely prayer,
That faded in the breeze.
Others in arms that take the reins,
To drown the pointless plea’s.
And all the while it goes ignored,
The show takes all the praise.
Muffle the sound and make is scarce,
Forget about the phrase.
My eyes they saw a fleeting glimpse,
A whisper in the wind.
Be like a fire to all who seek,
Extinguished after sin.
The loud and proud are bound by hope,
The unknown men, despair.
Walking by faith is blind and deaf,
And numbed with crowded prayer.
I thought I heard that lonely prayer,
Though I was mistaken.
Frantically left behind in fear,
Soon to be awakened.
Oh father, father help me now,
Just be my grounded stone...
Promised the world to all that come?
I'll do it on my own...
