I Am Me

Am I good for nothing? Am I a loser going nowhere? I don’t know everything Like my dad wants me to. I may not be motivated Like my mom want me to be. But I have all I need To succeed my way. At last I am me; Not my mom, not my dad; Just me and that’s all I want to be. I make my own path And I am not disappointed. My parents talk me down, I’m not what they wanted Me to be. They want a copy of themselves Not a self-thinking idealist Who will drive Down his own path. I am me, No one else. I have a destiny All my own.

A slightly sad and headstrong write. It is true that we are all individuals, and in the end we can only be ourselves. Growing up and becoming a teenager is difficult. We learn as we grow, so don't worry too much. In the end you will be your own man, and I'm sure your parents will be proud of you. Regards, Robert.

i wrote this poem to describe my feelings on how my parents keep putting my down. my dad wants me to learn a little bit of everything there is to learn but i want to know only the things i want to know. my mom wants me to be more motivated but i am motivated in my own way. and because i am not what they want me to be they constantly put me down and make me feel like i am going nowhere. i have learned, however, to block them out and listen only to my voice. and poetry is that voice
