I Am Me
Am I good for nothing?
Am I a loser going nowhere?
I don’t know everything
Like my dad wants me to.
I may not be motivated
Like my mom want me to be.
But I have all I need
To succeed my way.
At last I am me;
Not my mom, not my dad;
Just me and that’s all I want to be.
I make my own path
And I am not disappointed.
My parents talk me down,
I’m not what they wanted
Me to be.
They want a copy of themselves
Not a self-thinking idealist
Who will drive
Down his own path.
I am me,
No one else.
I have a destiny
All my own.
