Firestorm
It started as a tiny spark
Once drawn too close to wayward matter
But soon became a swirling flame
Then rapidly, that flame did scatter
It seared each barren space between
Emptiness and life’s demands
It wasn’t long before the blaze
Was out of even watchful hands
It seared through time and reason
Purging appetites insatiable
Yet, it drove a deeper need
Creating want immeasurable
* This poem was inspired by the story of Tristan & Isolde.
