Hymn of Harvest

In furrowed ground we plant the tiny seeds
Each one a grain of God’s divinity
Promises of bounty yet to be
Under rain and sun – waiting patiently

With faith and hope - we tend the seeds each day
Toiling hands driving petulance away
Knowing in every seed there is a life
In darkness rising up toward the light

In His light - the barren fields – turn to gold
As one by one the truth - of each unfolds
Wheat, flax and barley stand – in endless rows
We come at last - to reap what God has sewn

With grateful hearts we sing Him hymns of praise
Rejoicing in His love – this Harvest Day
