America

A couple times a year
you proudly fly your flag,
watch programs on TV
and about America you brag.

You sing the national anthem
and wear red, white, and blue,
but what about the families
affected all year through?

That old man in the wheel chair;
every morning he rolls by.
You call him a hobo,
but in the war he nearly died.

On that September morning
when many lives were lost,
the pain of mothers and children
was the greatest cost.

We can come together
to rebuild buildings and raise money
but Daddy won't come home to them
or tell Mom "I love you, honey."

We are one big family,
much more than just a nation.
Every neighbor, every race,
we all are God's creation.

We worked together for a few weeks after the tragedy, then went back to our old ways. When will they ever learn. We need to practice what we preach. Vince

It's a shame but it usually takes a tragedy for people to realize this. Good work....Karla
