Hummers Joy

.
                                                   Tiny
	                                  Little
                             Hummingbird, O how
                                                   You
                                               With your
                                              Emerald wings
	                               Inspire the imagination
Set our minds free, And give us wings
As we flit and dart through pine scented sunshine
Gathering dreams, singing a new song
		                        As troubles melt away
		    	              And the joy of living
				      Returns to us
					 With every
						Heart
	                                                                                      beat
						         A
						         New
						             World
  							  Unfolds to
							    Embrace us
							        With love
							               And
								  Joy

Beautiful words and creative form -- the image of the humminbird comes through so well, Trudy. Thank you for sharing this. They are among God's most beautiful creatures -- such fun to watch their wings flutter so quickly. Love, Carolyn

Wow! You did a great job on this concrete poem. I tried one with chicks under a rooster's wings... based on a true story. Mine was not a success. Yours, on the other hand is a success. I can see the little hummingbird flittering. Very nice. xoxox Dane

Trudy, well done. I see that you placed as much importance on the narrative of the poem as well as the shape. i like the way that you have incorporated a sort of fleeting feel to the narrative - as is darting from one point to the next. this means that the poem works on three levels: shape; narrative and music. No mean feat. An excellent work!

WOW ... I'm impressed! And the shape works. I'd not want to try something this intricate, and you so nicely painted your hummingbird with words.
