I only show you things I want you to see
I keep certain things from you
Hiding the ugly side of me
You see an ocean full of life
I am an empty sea
My branches overflowing with colorful leaves
Hiding a hollow tree
Laughing and enjoying time with you
But I am shackled and will never truly be free

Wow this is great, I like the way you express everything, it's really good. Good job.

Now James, The key to your shackle is within reach. The good in you will overpower your weaknesses if you but continue to be the wonderful you that others see. That goodness comes from you and is part of you. (Motherly advice continues.) Accept your good and forgive weakness. Let your strength uplift weakness along until your hollow feeling is filled with love and appreciation for yourself and others. We all know the feeling of hollow weakness and of learning. You can overcome doubt. DAS-J

James, I love the expression in this poem. Writing can help release all those empty feelings and help get to the bottom of what is causing them. Sara
