WOW this is an awesome write, Christie!! Wonderful use of the 5-7-5 line but I think its a Senryu rather than a Haiku but thats just my schoolteacher self getting in the way when what I really want to say is this is just incredible and a very well-deserved selection to be featured this week at the Soup. Congratulations!!

uuuuuu, it happens; reminded me of a song called Mother, it is so sad and so terrific; I mean, this haiku shows the dark side of motherhood; when sweetness and unconditional love turns into manipulation and the desire of possesion, not willing to let a person grow and slide into the world; everything in just 3 simple lines, awsome!!!@.@ thanks for the experience =D

I have known a few in my day Christie, Cleverly written.

Jim Carrey had a character on In Living Color back in the day (early 90s?) that had this exact imagery. They even had a fake chord coming out from under his shirt. By my account, these types of men don't understand how to run their own lives and so transform every woman they're with into a mother of sorts. Cute poem Christie. Especially liked the dangling imagery:) -Yoni
