It can't be hidden

Hurt
she felt
on that day
she heard that "no"
she wished to be "yes"
tears appeared in her yes
and she hid it behind a smile
but that smile disappeared in a flash
for indeed, that hurt, could not be hidden.

Interesting style that I have not tried. Nicely done. Keep the creative pen flowing. Sara

Very emotive and touching, Maryam. "[...]hurt, could not be hidden." I love it! Ruben.

I like the last line, that hurt could not be hidden. So many hide their hurt, but few do it well. Lovely work.

The emotion comes through your words in this poem. Nice use of this challenging form. I think most will relate to your words. Thank you for your kind words on my poem. Have a wonderful weekend! Karen

It's always difficult to hide sadness "behind a smile," Maryam. The reader can relate to such feelings as we have all done this from time to time. But as you say in your compelling poem, "hurt could not be hidden." Very heartfelt and moving observation in your great poem! Love, Carolyn
