Iris Feathered Eyelashes

Long Iris feathers
reach the brow line in dozens
Milked, brushed black, parted

Outlined, jasmine green
With a touch of bedroom brown
sensually cast

Upward, they lap slow
Increasing the allure, "blink"
"Wink"... hello handsome

Like a rich Uncle
Kissing both the upper cheeks
They live in numbers

the male species, fights
but poorly, rarely winning
"Venus" traps the guy

Great haiku, Sandra. I have an iris plant in front of my house. It does have "eyelashes" :) Anyway thanks for your comment on my " One Last Dance" Love, Iolanda

Would a grouper or an amberjack suffice? Haven't seen any whales in the Gulf of Mexico but, who knows, maybe you can send one my way!

Love the image of eyelashes as "Long Iris feathers." Venus may "trap the guy," but this alluring poem captures readers and provides sensual delight. Such an incredible write, Alexandra. Your work here shines of genius!
