Hush

Rushing wind pushes her down
She skins her knee alone
She looks to the crying sky
She silently soulfully moans

What does she look like?
What does she see?
What does the wind whisper in her shell like air?

Will someone rescue her from her fear?
Or will she be like wonder woman
And rescue herself
And the rest of the world?

God watches it all and blows out the candle
Shhh

Love the ending and the thought of God watching out for her and providing comfort. The title words well with the poem. Thank you for sharing this one with us and for taking time to comment on my poem. Keep on writing. Blessings to you. Karen

Beutifully written, Autumn! Love the way you answer the questions posed when God "blows out the candle." I could not help but think of poet Emily Dickinson when reading the plight of this woman. She, too, felt alone and "soulfully moaned" in her haunting poems.
