Victim of Knowledge

I am imprisoned
Amidst walls that speak
Beleaguered by chains
That read through my mind
          That seek
I sense not even time,
Not a day, not a week
It is only in space
I find my years of light

I am a prisoner, a victim
Beyond all the painful and
              The bleak
Still yearning to know,
I still bespeak
An essence of this complex, meek
              Surrender

so sad, it's seems a common female plight. I wrote Precious Fare, & Sheer Joy both about a similiar topic. We can, do & will leave in our minds ..first. Light & Love

Complexity. Throughout the poem, I clearly see the imagery of imprisonment, yet to a friend, to a poetess, to my favourite poet of all time, why with such murky feelings? Enjoyed it, understood it and dazzled.

You may be prisoner and feel a victim, but truly I believe it is a gift. Don't you feel that way most of the time deep inside? Love & hugs your way, Shar xoxo

Farah, What an elegant poem with remarkably beautiful imagery. The poem reflects your eloquence. There is something about your poems that touch hearts. A quatrain from my book Rubai'yat of Josh Malihabadi -A Drop and the Ocean: Strings of beads, profound prayers and devotee's turban/ Throne, crown, drums, flags and fortification/ Their collective powers arrayed on one side/ And on the other the might of His Majesty the Pen. -Mohammad

I know this poem, Farrah, in my body, mind and soul. that knowing comes with great cost, but it is also the greatest gift a human being can recieve, if they follow through, and will it. but yes, it is a lonely, misunderstood place. love, Kristin

I love it! This is a fine example of "saying more than is said", an aspect of poetry a lot of people can't nail like this. Keep it up! -Skylar
