Come and share a drink and cheer,
I'll play your favourite song,
we may be strangers but we can talk
for we all need to belong.
We are all drifters after all just trying
to find a place,
we welcome loners, we try to catch,
those fallen from their grace.
The old boys take their same seats,
we call it the death row,
they listen to our banter,
with cheeried cheeks aglow.
Then one day you discover
the drunk you thought a clown,
he quotes the works of shakespeare,
he's not trussed in such a gown.
So welcome to my local,
come share a drink and cheer,
If you want some peace it is done
but when you need to talk, we're here.
