The Blind Dreamer

Upon the closure of these eyes
That may not witness color's span,
Seraphic realms of luster rise
Ambiguous to eye of man.

I must allow this feeble mind
To self-perpetuate it's worth.
Impossible it is, to blind
The eyes of persevering earth.

You sea, the luxury denied
Is that of beauty now arcane.
But in myself do I confide,
For I will surely see again.

And in my dreams the river streams
Are flowing in the wrong direction.
As I approach its liquid beams,
The image formed is my reflection.

And whilst I dream about the skies,
A voice from distant planes would plea.
Upon disclosure of these eyes,
It fades away... I cannot see.
