Sinner

Lilleth

I have an edge to me as sharp as Hecate’s blade.
That slices through history’s rhetoric, unafraid
Of the consequences.

I know what Eve’s sin is, and can explain.
She took on Adams shame.
And his defense.

You see,
He crumbled under the weight
Of such enlightenment as she offered him.
Damn straight.

God’s purpose is plain.
Not there to test, or create pain.
Awareness was offered
And Eve accepted.
What Adam rejected,
Was what god proffered.
How do you like them apples tossed?

Eden lost.
Been repeating itself ever since
Providence
Decreed.
Indeed,
The true theft,
Was not the apple, or the cart upset.

That’s why Lilleth left,
And founded herself a whole new Universe
Where she could converse
With dignity and grace
Not afraid to replace
Old worn out lies
With truth.

Krow, wonderful commentary on the value of truth! And I like the way the poem moves, shooting from the hip with, "Damn straight" and "Eden lost." Good work here! And thanks for taking the time to read "The Mountain I Believed to Be Id." Indeed, you captured my intent. As the wise one says, "Life is a journey; enjoy the ride." I'm enjoying your work, Carolyn
