how my days were marred

"what do you mean by that? " he said
in rather a threatening manner,
I blushed - my face turned red,
all the joy in the day was marred.

His anger changed my view of him
his witty turn of phrase now jarred,
his caustic comments left me cold,
all the joy in the day was marred.

Before I speak I'll think quite hard
and just stay in my own back yard,
curl up in a ball in the corner
for all the joys in all my days are marred,

Congratulations on your placement in my contest Barbara. You all left a piece of yourselves on this contest page. It was so very hard to judge. I am asking you all to read and comment on all the winners here. You will go away seeing into the hearts of all the winners. This was a very emotional contest for me. Thank you all for supporting this contest. Love and blessing to you all, Carol

This is a tragic condition of life that so many experience. Wife and I have been married for 57 years...had a few desperate hours of unhappiness, but things worked out I'm happy, now, to say. Hey, Barb, let fly on the soup. People will pick up on your unhappiness and you may get comfort. Love, daver
