Long-Awaited

The sifting sunlight
taunts the sea.
Its meager light plays tricks.
Those crooked rays of shadows fade
behind some distant mountain,
but I, beneath the shrinking sun,
take pleasure in dark skies;
as long-awaited clouds rise up
to assuage my love for rain.

    Another beautiful write from you, Celeste. There is a poignancy to this one ... especially for those who live in drought conditions ... as I am in Oregon, I too LOVE the rain ... smile
