Please stop the pain

George, the parakeet
                              was flying around the room.
he always escaped his cage.
Tried frantically to save him...
too late, the deed was done.
Blade the big dog already had him in his mouth,
                                George was hurt,
His life slowly left his body.
                                 Come morning, George was gone.
Oh, the humanity!
A creature so large,
slowly takes the life of the small weak bird.
Like the Gangs suck the life from our youth.
Please stop the pain...
before the end is the same!

Hi Judy, i am a bird lover my self, i had a similar instant with my zebra fuinches, and thanks for your comments. I wrote this poem because i just received a box of organic short bread biscuits from a group of people i helped, not expecting anything, but there you go, when you least expect, a little help goes a long way.
