Dream No More

Dream no more of beauty,
deep in the forest it awaits -
age-old trees, swift-flowing streams,
silvery shapes darting in clear waters,
fogs hovering on silent mountainsides.

Think no more of ugliness,
from a damp street it beckons -
poor, hungry children calling it home,
old, broken hobos in cardboard houses,
lost souls escaping, turning to needles.

Search no more for me,
I'm just right here, can't you see?
for a friendly soul waiting this long,
dying to shake and squeeze a hand
that to you I may convey I love you.

Dream no more, humanity, feel!

Such a wonderful poem, one to open eyes and hearts. This was one to search our souls, to find compassion. ~ Carrie
