The Pricely Prize

He steps out of the thicket on his strong and slender legs
He scans his kingdom with those eyes the color of robin's eggs

A prince of the forest he is so called with fur the color of ash wood
His rivals dare not challenge his throne; his strength is well understood

This is a creature of graceful power and a humbling significance
His crown is branched above his head to add to his magnificence

As he reflects upon his greatness, I watch his splendor unobserved
I spare a moment, draw in the beauty,

Take aim and-
BLAM!
Supper is served

The animal lovers might be angry but it's better to eat than be eaten. Awesome ending. Vince

An image well created and then the surprise. BLAM! You do have a way with words. You use them to paint pictures. Nice job. Keep writing.
