FAREWELL

Forever I vowed to love no one else but you
Angel, please know that my love is true
Rare is the love that lasts this long
Everlasting feeling that is so strong
Woman, I know you will never be mine
Even if I wait for all eternity, you still won't cross the line
Lady, although I am still very much under your spell
Last night I realized that it’s time for me to bid you farewell

Sometimes even though the feelings are strong we have to learn to let go and accept that
it’s not and was never meant to be. That no matter how much we want something, we should
still
learn to admit defeat when it is already staring us in the face. This poem aspires to convince
a soul to let go, accept what is, and to stop living in a world of dreams.

Hey there John!:) Well oh well...not easy, this 'lâcher prise', the letting go, the release. At first one can't think what to do.. might feel lost, but as you say, John, "Sometimes...we have to learn to let go". I was in this limbo before, I know how it can hurt. I wish you the best, John! Don't take that 'one armed robber' as a new buddy, from what I've seen, he can be very fickle and cruel.:)) I don't gamble, my vices must be elsewhere. Be well...God bless you, John! love you, Mikki

sad been there many times know the feeling, you have to just move on, like I always have said, losing a girl or boy friend is like missing a bus, wait ten min. and another one will be along. this was a great poem, time heals all wounds is true so you will have a new love.

Sad reality that sometimes is hard to come to grips with. Acceptance is a process and not always easy. Nice use of the acrostic form. I think most will relate to your words. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and for your kind words on my poem. Keep on writing. Karen

Oh John, sometimes the truth is deeply painful. Emotional and heartfelt write. Do not know if this is reality for you, and if it is wishing you swift healing and good luck, but either way a most excellent acrostic. Well done. Love, Shar
