Brain cells, Brain cells,
Where doth thou all goest,
Why be washed away,
When I imbibe?
Doth thou all knowest not?
That alcohol’s for gut,
For flooding away,
My tummy’s fat

Brain cells, Brain cells,
Where doth thou all goest,
Why be blown away,
When I smoke?
Neural and nervelike,
In your electrical way,
Why not like my nerves,
Won’t you calmly stay?

Brain cells, Brain cells,
Where doth thou all goest,
Why be fried,
By Mary Jane and her friends?
Why is it that,
Thou all wouldn’t try?
To stay aloft and happy up there,
The same way I am high?

Sometimes, I wonder where my brian cells go too though I don't need substances for the problem to occur. Thank you for allowing me to chuckle with this one even though it has a serious message. Thank you for your contribution to "Tidbits." I concluded the poem if you would like to check out the finished piece. Let me know if you see anything that may need correcting. Keep on writing! Karen

Excellent George - my husband has Dementia caused by drinking in his past.. Thanks for comments on my poem - it is strictly fiction - although I recall Montreal, Canada and the artists from whom I bought work from working in the alleys..
