He Dreams Despite My Screams

If only he could see my pain
and know it's shadow's near.
If only he could smell the rain
of salty tears I smear.

If by chance his sorrow grew
like ivy's green disguise,
and choked the life he held onto,
then would he realize?

Take me where I may transcend,
or make me to dissolve!
I pray most humbly to ascend,
if my sin you won't absolve!

If only he would wake to see
these eyes so trite and stark.
The truth is he does suffer me,
And leaves me with the dark.

You judge yourself a little harsher than you think. You write well and have a good heart. You can't ask for more than that in a person. Keep writing. Vince

So beautifully penned with heart-wrenching and poignant emotion. You know what-I love you, too.:) LOL. Anyway, I didn't log in here in a few days, because I was very busy lately. I hope all is well with you. Love, Sara

Ivy, your writing is always so poignant and presents itself with a clarity, by way of great imagery. This is a wonderfully flowing read but for a sad subject. You pen your words with style. Michael

Nice intertwining of nature and emotion to forward your thoughts in this poem. In answer to your earlier question, I do go lilies--perennials I bought as small plants. Thank you for your ongoing support and for sharing your talent with us. Best wishes. Karen

Now - who are you talking about? A powerful poem written out of pain. The pain comes through especially in the last stanza. Keep it up!
