Ahhhhhhhh~!

I am only one person…I am only one mom
One parent today who can’t seem to hold on~
Their demands are so plenty
I tolerate it all
There is no one but me
Only MOM……when they call!
I am withering away….I am usually so patient
But just for today Lord
Make them stop calling MOMMY
please …….. just for one second!

I clean up their room ….put their animals back
To my utter amazement
                            ….one throws an attack
The animals are all strewn back on the floor
Now their room is a mess just like before!
Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Should someone relate to my annoyed frustration
In me please confide~
I feel like I am losing it ….and I just wanna cry!~

I want to pull out my hair……I have nothing to lose
They are only children….Far from perfect, it’s true
But just for a moment …I shall hide in my room!
Now since I’ve been writing
                                          …my son fell asleep
My daughter cleaned up all the mud from outside
In my room as I write all the thoughts in my mind
Lord blessed me just now
….and some peace I shall find!

Dear Jane! Your poem is a true picture of a single parents struggle to combat the rigors of the demands of the little ones. A remarkable write -very touching. I invite you to read my poem The Sparrow. You will like it. You have not posted a new poem for last three months. The fraternity of poets at PoetrySoup misses you. Mohammad

Fortunatly, I can not relate to this. I say fortunatly because I am only 15. I do, however, have three other siblings(in this house, three others at my dad's house) and I know that this poem would relate well with my mother. Anyway, back to your poem. I thought that it was so very easy to relate to is you are a parent. I am an aunt to a 16 month old who lives in the same house, so I kind of get the jist of it. Very well done. Keep writing and please comment on my new poems if possible. --Cassidy

Jane, I have 4 kids all 14years old and younger, I know what this is like! We have to accept those few moments of peace and be grateful for them otherwise we'd lose it. Great emotion and clarity here. Good luck to you! Michael

I was mad at you for forgetting my charming existence, but felt guilty after reading this poem. Thanks, biatch! I can relate to your agony, and so can every mother, even those who pretend otherwise. I am glad you found your peace of mind, in the end of this amazing vent.

I remember those days. My kids are grown now, but when my son comes home from college, well things are just right back where they started! Cute write, though I feel your frustration! Hang in there. Love, Shar

This is excellent. I just love it! What would life be without the touch of such flavor for a mom? Ha! Dads also get the other end on the growing up process. Hang tough and be flexible. Great job! ~ Joseph

To be a mom...there are no words that can describe. Loved this, it reminds me so of the last song I wrote, "Working Girl Blues" dedicated to all moms. Great write, your friend always, Christy email me at chardy4904@charter.net, and I will email it to you, if you want to hear it.

Janer, this is a gem...would have been perfect for Mother's Day, but, no matter, I LOVE it! Thanks for reading "Friday the 13th." Are you a musician? The reference to Opus 13 was for classical music buffs. Opus 130 is Beethoven's String Quartet number 13. Again, your poem is priceless! Love, Daver

Oh my Gosh do you have a camera in my room or what? LOL I can feel your frustration I have four and I do daycare in my home. It is a never ending cycle. I love them all but sometimes I need mommy time. I love that you use your talent for writing to remain calm. Poetry is like getting thousands of dollars of therapy for free. LOL best of luck to you. Smiles from Lena "Lolita" (Not the mommy person for now)
