Death Unto Itself

My words live on undefended,
  speaking for themselves

My prayer rises, voice ascended,
  —death unto itself

(Villanova Pennsylvania: June, 2017)

Poor, patriotic Samuel Lelune
    welcomed November's Thanksgiving new moon

Snarfed turkey non-stop, onward from noon
ascended to heaven ~ human hot-air balloon

Premium Member The Essence Of Magic: Love

Illuminated golden cherry blossoms had slowly descended
As the secret lovers and their wretched curse had ended.
Their souls, through the essence of magic, finally ascended.

Still Waters Run Deep

Ascended spirit, I need your help.
Share with me the knowledge spoken
through a voice actually
mine, though it speaks kinder
words of honesty
and clarity
that still my
lucid
mind.

Clerihew-Bold Alpinists

Michel-Grabriel Paccard and Jacques Balmat
ascended the dangerous ridges of Mont Blanc...
without ice axes and their firm determination,
to achieve the impossible, nurtured their immense ambition.
Form: Narrative

He Ascended

Walking to Bethany Jesus did lead.
A blessing from him by all was received.
     He ascended from sight
     their souls to excite
into praising God – my were they pleased.

Luke 24.50-53

Happenstance

Upon pulchritude I gandered
Alchemy materialized
Adamant sentiments mere panders
Upon pulchritude I gandered
Fervor ascended, language stammered
Imagery never once had I theorized
Upon pulchritude I gandered
Alchemy materialized
Form: Verse

Bambi

Fleet eccentric sounds ascended
Within silence they blended
Anonymous was the kiss
Tantalizing yet taunting
Delightful yet daunting
Upon bones echoes shift
A novelty ever evolving
Refrain from resolving
‘Twas your touch I missed
Form: Verse

All His Glory

All glory to thee in the highest,
thou gavest thy life for me.

All glory to thee whom decended,
and ascended on high.

All glory to thee who loves me,
and again shall descend.

All glory to thee omnipotent,
whereever I am thou art.

Premium Member Defying Nature

Only God can defy nature. Like when:

Jesus walked on the Galilee waters
Jesus died and rose from the dead
Jesus was born of the virgin Mary
Jesus ascended into heaven
Jesus returns to earth

Martin

Made as a voice to free oppression
Ascended into the promise land for a view
Ravaged of his memory by hookers and dealers on his boulevard
Troubled of his words that he spoke
Ignited by the fire of a Klansmens cross
Never should we forget the man Who had a dream
Form: Name

Memory Weapons

5 a.m. had surfaced
Weary I ascended from my bedstead
Keen I rose the first of many cancer sticks
to the sleek rift of my lips
Oh, how the flavor of fresh, young smoke
Knocked at the base of my esophagus
Caressing my uvula with infinitely
Unfathomable mountains of beauty
Form: Verse

Premium Member City of Streetlights

I remember stark beautiful nights
       Blue nebulae, stars shining bright
      Constellations, mind-bending sights
      Brilliant moonshine, rising in height
And then ascended, our fuzzy lights
     Heaven vanished, perhaps took flight

Premium Member Missing You

Two years ago you ascended
Heaven became a better place
You made my life a dream
My cherished gift with all your grace
My poetry tells our story
You inspire the words that convey your glory
The wonderful Angelic woman that captured my heart
My eternal love that pains me to be apart!

A Girl

The tree has entered my hands,
The sap has ascended my arms,
The tree has grown in my breast-
Downward,
The branches grow out of me, like arms.

Tree you are,
Moss you are,
You are violets with wind above them.
A child - so high - you are,
And all this is folly to the world.

Her Perspective 3

like a girl on a down swing
on the descent of a roller coaster
i came down
screaming laughing weight less
n then
the water fall ascended
and vibrated the roof of my womb
in a swirl then decrescendo
sending me into the outer space
crushing me in the troposphere
and we moaned
like
helpless dogs
Form:

Numb

I wonder if I’m an empath.

I wonder if I’ve ascended.

I feel like wandering into a wall.

I wish my random mumblings-

Would translate to the screams that they are.

I am numb to my family’s calls.

Every time she says goodbye and goodnight…

I hope she is having a good night without me.

Word Morph - From the Ground

Angel ascended from the ground,
To anger the humans of the world,
Flying around leaving aggers of dreadful sounds,
Using his auger to dig out dreamworlds,
Ancient augurs of Rome predicted his arrival,
But he only grew huger and so ended everyone's survival.

Angel - anger - agger - auger - augur - huger

Ago

I have ascended so much more, but have not forgotten my childhood lore,
A vivacious essence with each opening door, oh how I long for those days of yore,
A sepentine of fields and roads where once we'd capture fireflies and toads,
A leisure in our life as we then did dally when all was good and we knew not sally.

Premium Member Playing God

In arrogance
I ascended
the ancient steps
of earthly glory.

Higher and higher
I climbed
beyond the reach
of my own humanity.

Seeking knowledge
forsaking wisdom
savoring intellect
playing God.

I forgot
pride comes
before the fall
I usurped God's thrown.

God....

            was not amused.

Premium Member The Christ

Born supernaturally, with the aid of a human body.
Lived naturally, through a human body.
Died naturally, in a human body.

Resurrected, identified in that human body.
Revealed and ascended with that human body.
Returning with a human body, visible by any and all.

Curfew For My Soul

My soul flew to church
roadside beauty blocked it

Charity work it embarked on
hot mouths intercepted goods

Prayer to God it made
no response from the heavens

Ascended to the heaven
black clouds built a fence

Desperate soul mine is
curfew on earth, curfew above

Where will it find solace?
where will it find a friend?

Rideing Like the Wind

i remember bicycling many miles, the sun on my face and the gentle breeze about my sweaty
body, cooling,my heart pounding in my ears as i ascended those monster hills
the taste of salt from the sweat, the comraderie, the smells of fresh grass or cow dung.i
still hear the clicks of the pedals and clasps.oh how i miss it since my disabling stroke

Premium Member Dealing With It

Listen to poem:
She had discerned the shame
throughout her espoused life
real love she earned to claim
and end that timeless strife

Now a divorced woman
who timely pays her bill
provides all that she can
for she cannot standstill

She creates all day long
she ascended the scale
for she founded her song
her spin and not his fail.

Igniting Long Lost Desires

aura and presence
of her blazing spirit
soul shifting transformations
karmic consequences
plunging like a king fisher
in the wilderness
of her sacred ocean
flowing water
of power and love
her prismatic eyes
penetrating blissful
lightning bolt of ascended truth
leading me into dark abyss
jolting and stirring
long lost desires
