dingy sailing across our sea of grass catching worms fattened by May's sun and showers ....

Wren
A Carolina Wren
bobs and weaves
inside a ring of sunlight.

It is shadow boxing,
but there are no shadows

yet it still jabs and moves.

A boxer
fights the shadow of himself....

Flower Love
How the flower
Bobs and weaves
Sharing tea
With some bees

How the colour
Nods and sways
Breezy coolness
Sunlight rays

How the scent
Softly dances
Perfumed nose
Loving glances...

U Clods Unlooked
on tip of a wisp
as it bevels and bloats
streamlined scribbles etching a note
upturned waves collapsing
in cotton bobs
greys and embers mating a mistake
ethereal tendril veins knitting patters undone
phoenix fogs missed mist
of almost pink...

Premium Member Bills Janes and Bobs
In the rust belt loss of work is felt
as industries went overseas..
Bill's, Jane's and Bob's now pining
for jobs to support their families needs.
Good jobs are such a rarity and people here
don't want charity, so send us some good
companies please!...

Whooping Crane
Long necked
with legs like ruby stilts
the crane lifts it wings
to it's side
and dances with little strides
It bobs and hops:
a skipping rope with feathers
then lowers it's wings
to gauge the effect.
Almost like the wind is a critic
It finds a mate....

Boxed
I’ve sealed it in a paper box…
Every trace I had
I could not bear the memory
A story ended sad!

Picture frames & baby books
Little bits and bobs
Any trace I found of you
Kept hidden form my sobs.

Deeper than a mother could
Have ever felt the pain
Losing my small baby child
Has driven me insane!...

Premium Member Exuberance
Listen to poem:
Exuberance bobs, bops and bounces
on a trampoline of joyous elation.
Its riff a catchy refrain
that sticks in the brain,
prods and pokes receptive minds
into action and reaction.
Like a buoy rocking on waves,
to and fro,
up and down,
side to side,
Just can't sit still,
all aflame and glowing,
sparking with joyous jubilation....

The Shadow Knows
Sparring with demons, and dragons and deadheads
It bobs and weaves like a drunken sailor.
Omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient
I'm quite attached to it - joined at the psyche.

Image of an incubus twirling as I do.
Patron Saint of agony, I curse it
And relegate it to a 2nd-class personage.
Out, damn spot, out - and take the blood with you....

Summer 2012 Olympics: Mens Swimming
His body is primed , muscles pushing at the skin, being magnetically drawn to the water. Focus so heavy the air sags as the clock winds down.
And then the push-off.
Like a fish, flying through the water. Gliding and slicing.
A twist, a turn, a flip. A head bobs above the water.
Breathe in deep. Deep. Deeper.
A win. A glow of satisfaction.

Dedicated to Ryan Lochte....

Premium Member She Said Goodbye To Him
she said goodbye to him

give baby seal a treat
as she bobs him on her nose
to the applauding crowd so sweet
round and round she goes
she's the main attraction of the show
a flip of silver brings her smiles
as she dances all the while
she knows her cues by heart
a final wave to him in the aisles
the baby seal show now comes to depart

The Cock of the Town
The Cock Of The Town

Poppy cock! says the clucking cock
to the beat of the clicking clock.

He bobs his head up and down
as the world turns around.

He's looking for another cock to block,
it for the thrill of the fight that he wants to lock.

He struts his stuff like he's the cock of the town
it's true none of his hens have a frown.
Perhaps he is the cock of the town....

Premium Member Pyjamas - For Colloquialism Contest
I clapped eyes on some jimjams
at me local Marks and Sparks,
but strapped for readies,
I couldn't buy them
and had to treat it as a lark.

It was a shame,
for they were prezzies.
(I do like Marks and Sparks...)
I looked around at bits and bobs,
then toddled to the park.
