For many years now I've been a crossword buff
Nowadays they are only cryptic but for me some are much too tough
It's always the Pommies who create the greatest challenge
The cryptics in their newspapers, The Guardian, The Times
if I can solve six clues, I feel I've got revenge
To ease some built up frustration, escape from spoonerisms and other things I sqizz
Revert to Code Crackers ( not that far gone yet}and the daily on line trivia quiz
Many years ago I worked with a man who I judged as totally insane
Give him a cryptic crossword all done within a flash every single day time and time again
There exists an old adage never judge a book by it's cover
There's a lot more to many people we will no doubt oft discover
I have a face
both front and rear..
see now..as I draw near
I am a door
to this year and last..
tomorrow and the past
I was a God,
some did call me..
their heavenly deity
No longer distant
close not afar..
I now begin a calendar
I walk into a desk-filled room
where all are hunched and hard at work,
and several pause to turn and glare
at me, the late-arriving jerk.
The teacher hands a small blue book,
“So glad that you have found the place!”
It is a Chemistry exam;
the color drains out of my face.
Some forty years now, out of school,
yet still those nightmares make me sweat.
Some people wish their dreams come true;
trust me, that’s one I don’t regret!
I have a face

Enhancing the young brethren's knowledge
About true faith, firm hope, and great love
Expressing the Almighty's message.
The words of wisdom from up above
Allow the youngsters to know the truth;
They are the guiding light of the mind,
Heart and soul of each and every youth.
Each question reminds the contestants
Of the genuine gospel they have learned;
The biblical answer is so clear,
The truth is what they have just discerned.
God's righteousness remains in the heart
And soul of the Lord's chosen children;
They obey His command and statute,
To reach the new earth and new heaven.
The event is a Christian contest,
Lord God is the top priority;
Competitors enjoy the battle
Of minds in the Pasugo Quiz Bee.

Not quite.
It was worse than any wonder
I had KNOWN or GUESS.
His mind wandered until it
Soaked up all questions he
Thought we're on the quiz.
Mean while,
The money man's motives
We're clear. He must have
Mentioned before.
With more money there are
No matters of mundane or
Mediocre materials.
And all shall have a good and
Gainful respite,
Rising to relief in the GLORIOUS
MISTY, MONDAY, MORNING.

Add More Fizz By Taking a Quiz
Why not to your life try to add more fizz
By breaking a balloon that became a pop quiz
Then right after that taking a short hop
To what eventually became a Mom and Pop Shop.
Shop was full of poems we have just heard
From mostly mundane to the completely absurd
(Sounds like my neck of the woods)
They even have thrown in some Bible verses
Which said best choir is one that rehearses.
So instead of becoming much more belligerent
Or insurgent locked into rules that are stringent
We here believe in equality of all the races
Hope Texas will lend us some wide open spaces.

I've farted so I'll finish,

The harsh light
A grim sight
No help for our plight

The scratch of a pen
In groups no larger than ten
five intelligent men
All from phnom penh
I wanted this to be a joke
but we are surrounded by serious folk
I try to sup my coke
The all stare, to ensure I never spoke
The sweat slowly drips
My Brain searching for tips
My stomach is doing flips
Wishing I could abandon this sinking ship
Finally as free as a kite
My mind is wracked with spite
people feeling the full force of my might
