Who would've thought he'd have so few days,
when they'd heaped on him all of God's praise.
For this then, they said, he'd been saved,
though they all knew he was depraved.

I remember the anticipation of Christmas
Days passed so slowly as excitement filled the air

Worrying that I might forget my part in the play,
Listening while plans were made for Christmas Day
While feeling that something could prevent a visit

It is a darkling night in Union Square
Yet in our hearts 'tis bright as noonday sun
