To mark her 100th year, Joyce Johnson's book, Lifetime Memories in Verse, has been released by Publisher Gary Drury and is now available for purchase on Amazon.com.
By dividing the March contest into four categories, I was able to select four first-place winners. Bob Hinshaw won for St. Patrick's Day, Paul Callus for Spring, Janis Thompson for Earth Day and Nina Parmenter for International Women's Day. There were great poems entered in all four categories and I decided to offer prizes only for first place so that I could award well-earned, second-place wins to many contestants.
I hope you will offer congratulations to our first-place winners:
First-place winners receive five points in this contest. There were many wonderful entries in second place and these winner receive four points for the Easter Series. Third-place winners receive three points. Poets are vying for the ultimate prize, a multi-gemstone cross pendant.
Points are really adding up for those who have entered all three of the contests so far in the Easter Series. (Not all of the top winners in the contests held so far have entered each one. There is no sure winner yet, because I hope to sponsor at least two more contests for the series. The top winners of the individual contests receive prizes. If you place in any of these contests, your name and point totals appear on a spreadsheet I've created.
It takes many hours to judge these contests and keep track of points, but I have really enjoyed reading all of the entries. I just fall behind on writing and commenting, but will try to catch up on comments after adding the latest round of points to the spreadsheet.
