To mark her 100th year, Joyce Johnson's book, Lifetime Memories in Verse, has been released by Publisher Gary Drury and is now available for purchase on Amazon.com.

It is hard to believe that the Soup's own Joyce Johnson did not begin writing poetry until after her 80th birthday.  This year, as she prepares to celebrate her 100th birthday in July, Joyce has a new book of poetry.  Appropriately titled Lifetime Memories in Verse, the book reflects on family members, friends and special events that have brought joy to her life.

You will find a collection of poems that speak of her love for nature, especially flowers and animals Joyce sees in the area surrounding her home in the state of Washington.  A selection of spiritual poems is especially uplifting and provides a unique view of man's place in the universe from one who has had many years to reflect.

Congratulations from me, too! I bought the book on my kindle and am enchanted. I am very elderly and feel I'm reading from a friend who shares, which encourages me to do more "memory" poems.

its available through kindle as an e-book ( not through kobo, darn it) I checked it out and for those in Canada , Amazon.ca is also carrying this book

I went to see the cover of the book. It looks so nice, Carolyn. Thanks for doing this review for our friend Joyce. I was so surprised to hear she did not even start writing poems before age 80. MY goodness. To be so talented and have started it so late in life! Congrats to you, Joyce on the publication of your book!
